Merina Gris

Merina Gris is a trio from Donostia-San Sebastián formed in 2020 by Sara, Julen and Paskal. They burst onto the Basque scene with the single 'Besteek Zer' and have since built a sound world they call 'violent pop': carefully produced electronics, bursts of rage, melodic hooks and lyrics in Basque and Spanish that tackle identity, politics and the contradictory feelings of a generation. Their masked-figure image is not merely aesthetic but a philosophical choice to keep the focus on the music rather than the people. Their debut Zerua Orain (2022) sold out in under 24 hours; ZULOA (2025) confirms their growth as a band.
