Rubio

Rubio is the solo project of Francisca Straube, a Chilean artist who started out as a drummer in rock and indie bands such as Miss Garrison and Fármacos. After studying electronic music production in Barcelona, she launched Rubio in 2014 as a space for personal exploration, building a sound that blends textural pop, electronica, trip-hop, and Andean ethnic music elements. Her album Pez (2018) established her internationally, taking her to festivals like Lollapalooza, Primavera Sound, and Ruido Fest. Praised by Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, and Billboard, Rubio stands out for her intimate lyricism, dark atmospheres, and powerful live presence.
